About the location

 

Eresfjord, race village (Start, T1, T2) is a village in Nesset Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway on the Romsdal Peninsula. The village, reknowned for its nature with world class skiing, hiking and salmon fishing, is located along the Eira River between the Eresfjorden and the lake Eikesdalsvatnet. The mountain Skjorta lies just to the east of the village.

 

Agriculture, salmon fishing, and tourism are the main forms of income in the area. Eresfjord is also the home of the EIRA water brand, providing bottled water to some of Norway´s finest restaurants.

 

National Geographic Adventure acknowledged Eresfjord as having among the world’s most beautiful skiing terrains.

 

Eikesdalen (bike turning point) is a village in Nesset municipality. It is located at the south end of the lake Eikesdalsvatnet at the mouth of the Aura River. Mardalsfossen, Northern Europe´s tallest waterfall and a popular tourist attraction lies about 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) northwest of the village
